Oakland County, MI – The last of nine victims injured in the June 15 random shooting at the Brooklands Plaza Splash Pad has gone home. The 39-year-old Rochester Hills mother was seriously injured while protecting her children from the gunman.
According to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, the woman’s 8-year-old son, also seriously injured, was released June 28. Her 4-year-old son was previously released. Sheriff Michael Bouchard noted the long road to recovery ahead for the victims, emphasizing ongoing support.
The shooter, identified as 42-year-old Michael William Nash of Shelby Township, took his own life after deputies surrounded his residence. The incident remains under investigation.
