Northwood, New Hampshire – Authorities are renewing calls for tips in a 2004 suspicious child death case that remains unsolved more than two decades later.
According to New Hampshire State Police, Dominique Davis was last seen in 2004 and died following a reported medical emergency at a home on Gary Road in Northwood.
On Thursday, Feb. 19, 2004, at approximately 5:30 p.m., emergency crews responded to a 911 call reporting an injured child at 10 Gary Road. When EMTs arrived, they found Dominique lying on the ground and unresponsive, according to state police.
She was transported to Concord Hospital and later transferred to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. Authorities said she died two days later.
An autopsy determined Dominique died as a result of blunt impact injury to the head. Investigators said the circumstances surrounding her death suggested the trauma may have been the result of nonaccidental, inflicted abusive head injury.
Prior to her death, Dominique lived at the residence with her mother, Tina Prescott; her five-year-old sister; and David McNeal, who was identified by authorities as the brother of Prescott’s fiancé.
State police classify the case as a suspicious death and say it remains under investigation. No arrests have been announced.
Officials are asking anyone with information to contact the New Hampshire Cold Case Unit through the state’s online tip form or by email.
The case continues to draw attention among local families and longtime residents seeking answers in one of the community’s unresolved child death investigations.
