Warren, PA – The National Weather Service in State College has issued a Winter Storm Watch for Warren and McKean counties from late Wednesday night through Friday evening, as heavy lake effect snow and strong gusty winds threaten to disrupt Thanksgiving travel across northwestern Pennsylvania.

Forecasters say total snow accumulations of six inches or more are possible, with wind gusts up to 40 mph creating areas of blowing and drifting snow. These conditions could result in slippery roads, reduced visibility, and significant travel delays through the end of the week.

The storm is expected to develop late Wednesday, with periods of heavy snow continuing into Friday. The NWS cautions that rapid changes in visibility and road conditions are likely within snow bands, making travel hazardous for holiday commuters.

Motorists are advised to prepare for potential disruptions, carry winter survival supplies, and stay alert to the latest forecast updates as the system approaches.
