Fort Worth, Texas – Drivers and outdoor event organizers across North Texas should stay alert Monday evening as a low chance of strong to severe storms moves into the region, bringing threats of large hail, damaging winds, and minor flooding.

According to the US National Weather Service Fort Worth, a sunny Sunday will give way to increasing rain chances late Monday, mainly impacting northwestern counties including areas around Cisco, Gainesville, and the DFW Metroplex. The highest risk for isolated severe storms is expected after 6 p.m., with urban flooding a possibility in low-lying areas.

Temperatures will climb into the mid to upper 80s Monday afternoon, creating conditions favorable for storm development by evening. Cities like Waco, Killeen, and Palestine could also see scattered thunderstorms. Officials recommend preparing for potential interruptions to outdoor activities and planning alternate indoor options.

Minor flooding risks will be greatest in urban zones where heavy rainfall could overwhelm drainage systems. Residents are urged to monitor local alerts and secure outdoor objects that could be damaged by strong winds.

The threat is expected to diminish overnight, but further advisories could be issued if storm activity increases.
