Findlay, OH – A strengthening Fall system will push into northwest Ohio late Saturday morning, bringing steady accumulating snow and gusty winds that are likely to slow post-holiday travel across Hancock, Wood, Ottawa, Sandusky, Seneca, and Wyandot counties through Sunday.

According to the National Weather Service Cleveland office, a Winter Weather Advisory runs from 10 a.m. Saturday to 10 a.m. Sunday. Snow totals of 3 to 5 inches are expected, with winds gusting up to 35 mph reducing visibility on open roads. Light snow will expand across Findlay and Upper Sandusky by midday Saturday, increasing through the afternoon as colder air deepens.

According to ODOT, slippery stretches will develop rapidly on I-75, US-23, US-224, and OH-12 as pavement temperatures stay near freezing. Plow crews expect bridges and overpasses to freeze first. ODOT and the Ohio Turnpike Commission urge drivers to slow down, keep headlights on, and check ohgo.com for real-time conditions and crash updates. Gusty winds could push snow back onto freshly treated lanes, especially northwest of Findlay.

According to Hancock and Seneca County emergency management, weekend events and return-trip holiday traffic may face delays if heavier bursts persist into Saturday evening. Residents should charge phones, clear walkways frequently, and keep blankets and ice scrapers in their vehicles. Rural routes near Tiffin, Carey, and Fremont may drift where winds accelerate across open farmland.

Snow will taper by late Sunday morning, but cold temperatures will keep untreated surfaces slick into midday.
