Lima, Ohio – Severe storms are intensifying across northwest Ohio this evening, with a Tornado Watch remaining in effect for eight counties through 11 p.m., raising the risk of rapidly developing dangerous weather.
According to the National Weather Service in Northern Indiana, Tornado Watch 75 continues for Allen, Defiance, Fulton, Henry, Paulding, Putnam, Van Wert, and Williams counties. This includes communities such as Lima, Defiance, Wauseon, Napoleon, and Van Wert, along key routes like I-75 and U.S. 24.
Storms moving into the region could produce a few tornadoes, wind gusts up to 80 mph, and hail up to 2 inches in diameter. The greatest threat will occur through the evening as storms organize and track east.
Drivers along I-75 and surrounding highways should be prepared for sudden downpours, reduced visibility, and rapidly changing conditions during peak travel hours.
Residents are urged to stay weather aware and have multiple ways to receive warnings. Be ready to move to shelter immediately if a warning is issued.
The tornado threat will continue through 11 p.m., with additional warnings likely as storms push across northwest Ohio tonight.
