Cleveland, OH – An Extreme Cold Warning remains in effect for portions of Ohio and northwest Pennsylvania, including Cleveland, Erie, and surrounding areas, until 10 a.m. Wednesday. Wind chills could plummet to as low as -26°F.
According to the National Weather Service, prolonged exposure to these conditions can result in frostbite within 30 minutes or hypothermia. Affected areas include Lucas, Cuyahoga, Summit, and Trumbull counties in Ohio, as well as Erie and Crawford counties in Pennsylvania.
Residents should avoid outdoor activities whenever possible. If going outside is necessary, wear layered clothing, including a hat, gloves, and a face mask. Pets should be brought indoors, and water pipes should be wrapped or allowed to drip to prevent freezing.
Temperatures are expected to improve slightly after mid-morning Wednesday. Updates on weather conditions and safety tips can be found on the National Weather Service website or local emergency channels.
