Kansas City, MO – The National Weather Service in Kansas City/Pleasant Hill has issued a Frost Advisory for parts of northwest Missouri as temperatures are expected to fall near 31°F early Wednesday morning, October 22.

The advisory is in effect from 3 a.m. to 9 a.m. CDT Wednesday for Atchison, Nodaway, Worth, Gentry, Harrison, and Holt counties, including communities such as Maryville, Bethany, Tarkio, and Mound City.

Forecasters warn that frost formation is likely and could damage or kill sensitive outdoor vegetation if left uncovered. Residents are urged to bring in potted plants or cover outdoor gardens and flowers before temperatures drop overnight.

This cold spell marks one of the first widespread frost events of the season for northern Missouri, signaling the arrival of fall’s chillier pattern. Conditions are expected to warm slightly by late morning Wednesday, with daytime highs returning to the upper 50s under sunny skies.
