Goodland, KS – A cool, calm night will set the stage for frost formation across northwest and west-central Kansas, where the National Weather Service in Goodland has issued a Frost Advisory from 10 p.m. Saturday through 11 a.m. Sunday.

The advisory covers Decatur, Norton, Thomas, Sheridan, Graham, Logan, Gove, and Wichita counties, including cities such as Colby, Hill City, Norton, Oakley, Quinter, and Leoti.

Forecasters expect temperatures to fall to around 33°F, creating conditions for widespread frost that could harm or kill sensitive vegetation. Residents are encouraged to bring potted plants indoors and cover outdoor gardens and flowers before sunset.

The coldest readings will occur just before sunrise Sunday, with a gradual warm-up expected later in the morning. This advisory follows a week of cooler-than-normal conditions across the High Plains as fall temperatures continue to settle in.
