Grand Junction, Colo. – A warming trend returns to western Colorado on Friday, with daytime highs jumping 10 to 15 degrees across much of the region. While most areas will stay dry under partly cloudy skies, scattered showers are possible in northwest Colorado and northeast Utah this afternoon and into Saturday.

According to the National Weather Service in Grand Junction, a weak frontal boundary draped across the region could trigger isolated precipitation, particularly near the Uintah Basin and the Dinosaur area. Winds from the west will remain steady between 10 and 15 mph, adding a mild breeze to the mix.

Communities in Moffat and Rio Blanco counties could see brief showers, but no major weather disruptions are expected. In Grand Junction, highs will push into the upper 60s, while Durango and Montrose will trend warmer heading into the weekend. Dry conditions will persist across the southern half of the state.

Drivers should remain alert for sudden changes in visibility during any pop-up showers and watch for slick spots on rural roads. It’s also a good day to catch up on outdoor chores before the next round of unsettled weather.

Temperatures continue to rebound Saturday, with mostly dry skies expected outside of northwest Colorado.
