Lake Havasu City, Ariz. – Residents across northwest Arizona are being urged to stay alert for potential flash flooding through Saturday as heavy tropical moisture from Hurricane Priscilla pushes into the region. The National Weather Service in Las Vegas issued a Flood Watch for Lake Havasu, Fort Mohave, the Lake Mead National Recreation Area, and surrounding desert and plateau regions.

According to the NWS, multiple rounds of thunderstorms are expected from Thursday through Saturday, bringing intense rainfall that could exceed one inch per hour in stronger storms. The moisture-laden system is likely to cause flooding in creeks, streams, and low-lying areas, with poor drainage and urban flooding also possible. Low-water crossings may quickly become impassable.

Drivers are urged to avoid flooded roadways and never attempt to cross moving water. Those living in flood-prone zones should prepare for potential evacuation or delays and closely monitor official updates.

Warnings remain in effect through Saturday evening, with conditions expected to improve by late weekend as the system moves east
