Duluth, MN – Northern Minnesota will see a stretch of cool, sunny weather through midweek before temperatures begin to warm heading into the weekend, according to the National Weather Service in Duluth.

Temperatures will stay below normal through Wednesday, with highs ranging from the upper 40s to mid-50s across the region. The National Weather Service says sunshine will dominate through Thursday before cloud cover increases later in the week.

According to the agency’s October 7 forecast, rain chances rise slightly beginning Friday, especially for areas near Grand Marais, Ely, and International Falls. By the weekend, high temperatures are expected to climb into the 60s, offering a milder finish to the week.

Meteorologists note that sky cover will increase from roughly 20% midweek to over 60% by Saturday, signaling the next change in the weather pattern. Despite the warmer conditions ahead, forecasters expect only scattered light rain showers rather than any major system impacts.

Residents are encouraged to take advantage of the clear midweek weather before clouds and occasional rain move in late in the week.
