Duluth, MN – A stretch of cloudy, cool, and breezy weather is expected across northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin early this week, according to the National Weather Service in Duluth.
Forecasters say light rain is likely overnight Saturday into early Sunday, mainly across northwest Wisconsin. A few scattered showers may linger through Sunday afternoon as cooler air begins to move in.
A slow-moving low-pressure system will settle over the Northland Monday through Wednesday, bringing widespread cloud cover, rain, and gusty winds. Temperatures will stay within about 5 to 7 degrees of normal, with Tuesday expected to be the coolest day—highs only in the low to mid-40s.
The Arrowhead region and northwest Wisconsin could see between one-quarter and one inch of rain during the period. Winds from the south Monday will turn westerly, then northwesterly Tuesday and Wednesday. Forecasters expect gusts of 15 to 30 mph Tuesday, creating blustery conditions before winds begin to ease by midweek.
The weather pattern is expected to improve late Wednesday into Thursday, with drier and slightly warmer conditions toward the end of the week.
