Duluth, MN – The National Weather Service in Duluth has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Iron County, Wisconsin, effective from 6 p.m. Saturday through 6 a.m. Monday. Forecasters say lake effect snow will impact the region throughout the weekend, with total accumulations of 4 to 8 inches expected.

The advisory includes the city of Hurley and the northwestern area of the Lac du Flambeau Band Tribal Lands. Snowfall intensity will fluctuate as lake effect bands shift, potentially leading to rapidly changing visibility and slick road conditions.

Motorists are urged to slow down, increase following distance, and plan extra travel time—especially late Saturday night through Sunday—when snowfall rates may be highest.

Residents should continue to monitor local forecasts for updated snowfall totals and travel impacts. For up-to-date road conditions, WisDOT encourages drivers to call 511 or visit 511wi.gov before traveling.
