Burlington, VT – The National Weather Service (NWS) in Burlington has extended a Wind Advisory through 11 a.m. Monday for parts of northern Vermont, where gusty southeast winds up to 50 mph are expected to continue through the morning hours.

The advisory covers Eastern Franklin, Eastern Chittenden, and Eastern Addison Counties, including communities such as Enosburg Falls, Underhill, Richmond, Bristol, and Ripton.

According to the NWS, sustained winds between 15 and 25 mph are already moving through the area, with occasional gusts strong enough to down tree limbs and power lines. A few isolated power outages and difficult travel conditions, especially for high-profile vehicles, are possible.

Residents are urged to secure outdoor furniture and decorations, as loose items could be blown around by strong gusts. Drivers are also advised to use caution on open or elevated roadways, where crosswinds may be strongest.

The winds are expected to ease late Monday morning as a passing low-pressure system moves east, bringing calmer and cooler weather to the region by the afternoon.
