Brigham City, UT – Residents across Eastern Box Elder County are being urged to prepare for a hard freeze as temperatures could drop as low as 28 degrees late Monday night into Tuesday morning.

According to the National Weather Service in Salt Lake City, a Freeze Watch is in effect from late Monday night, October 20, through Tuesday morning, October 21. The affected areas include Snowville, Brigham City, and surrounding agricultural regions in Eastern Box Elder County.

Meteorologists warn that frost and sub-freezing conditions could kill crops, damage sensitive plants, and freeze unprotected plumbing. Homeowners are advised to drain sprinkler systems, cover exposed pipes, and bring potted plants indoors.

The alert marks one of the season’s first freeze events for Northern Utah, signaling an early arrival of cold weather for late October. Farmers and gardeners in the region are encouraged to take preventive measures before temperatures dip overnight.
