Salt Lake City, Utah – A 2.7 magnitude earthquake struck near Howell just after 12:30 p.m. Friday, lightly rattling parts of Box Elder County in northern Utah.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake hit at 12:33 p.m. MDT approximately 8 kilometers northwest of Howell at a depth of 14.8 kilometers. While no damage or injuries were reported as of Friday afternoon, residents near the epicenter may have felt mild shaking.
