State College, PA – A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for much of northern Pennsylvania, where several inches of snow and gusty winds are expected to create difficult travel conditions throughout Wednesday, December 10, according to the National Weather Service in State College.

The advisory covers a wide area, including Warren, McKean, Potter, Elk, Cameron, Clinton, Clearfield, Centre, Tioga, Lycoming, and Sullivan Counties. Snow will begin overnight and intensify during the Wednesday morning commute, continuing through the evening.

Forecasters predict 3 to 6 inches of accumulation, with localized amounts near 6 inches in higher elevations. Winds up to 35 mph from the southwest could cause blowing and drifting snow, reducing visibility at times.

Snow is expected to be heaviest Wednesday morning through early afternoon, tapering off gradually by late evening. Drivers should prepare for slick and snow-covered roads, particularly on U.S. Route 219, I-80, and Route 6.

Motorists are urged to slow down, use caution, and allow extra travel time. Road condition updates can be found at 511PA.com.
