HOOD RIVER, Ore. – A chilly night is on the way for northern Oregon’s Upper Hood River Valley, where the National Weather Service in Portland has issued a Frost Advisory from 1 a.m. to 9 a.m. Monday.

Temperatures are expected to drop into the mid-30s overnight in Odell, Parkdale, and surrounding rural areas. According to the NWS, these readings will be cold enough to form frost on lawns, gardens, and exposed vegetation, posing a risk to sensitive plants.

Residents are encouraged to move potted plants indoors or cover gardens with lightweight fabric or thin blankets to retain warmth. Vehicle windshields may also see light frost accumulation early Monday, especially along Dee Highway and nearby valley roads.

Temperatures will rebound quickly after sunrise under clear skies, with a mild afternoon ahead. Another round of near-freezing lows may return by midweek as dry, calm air lingers over the Columbia Gorge.
