Norman, OK – The National Weather Service (NWS) in Norman has extended a Flood Watch through Tuesday afternoon for several counties in northern Oklahoma.

The advisory covers Grant, Kay, and Noble counties, including cities such as Ponca City, Perry, Blackwell, Medford, Lamont, and Pond Creek.

According to the NWS, excessive runoff from recent heavy rainfall may cause flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and low-lying areas. Flash flooding in flood-prone areas remains a concern throughout the day.

Residents are urged to stay alert for possible Flood Warnings, which would signal that flooding is imminent or already occurring. Those living near waterways or in low-lying areas should be prepared to move to higher ground if necessary.

The Flood Watch is scheduled to remain in effect through Tuesday afternoon, with conditions expected to improve as rainfall chances taper off later in the day.
