Cleveland, OH – Commuters across northern Ohio should prepare for a wet Wednesday as steady rainfall continues through the afternoon before tapering off later tonight.

According to the National Weather Service in Cleveland, rain chances are near 90 percent today in areas including Akron, Canton, and Youngstown, while Cleveland holds at 83 percent. The heaviest showers are expected through early afternoon, shifting to more scattered activity tonight and Thursday.

Forecast models show widespread rain probabilities across the region: Mansfield at 87 percent, Ashtabula at 88 percent, and Erie, Pennsylvania at 84 percent. Toledo and Findlay may see lighter totals with rain chances in the mid-60s.

Thursday will bring improving conditions, though scattered showers may persist into the morning. By Friday evening, forecasters expect skies to turn completely dry. Temperatures will remain mild and seasonal, with highs reaching the low to mid-70s through the end of the week.

The National Weather Service advises residents to allow extra travel time today, especially during the morning and midday commute, as roads may be slick. Rainfall totals are not expected to cause flooding but could slow traffic on major interstates including I-71, I-77, and I-80.

By the weekend, Ohioans can look forward to drier conditions and comfortable fall weather as the system moves eastward.
