Cleveland, OH – A flood watch remains in effect for much of Northern Ohio, including Cleveland, Akron, and Findlay, as heavy rainfall continues to pose a flooding risk through early Sunday.

According to the National Weather Service Cleveland Office, the alert is active until 8 a.m. Sunday, April 6. Additional rainfall of up to three-quarters of an inch is expected across the region starting Saturday afternoon, adding to already saturated ground and increasing the threat of flash flooding.

Counties under the flood watch span from northwest cities like Findlay and Sandusky to northeastern hubs such as Cleveland and Akron, extending southward to Mansfield, Marion, and Canton. Urban flooding, swollen streams, and low-lying area inundation are all potential hazards.

Residents are urged to monitor local alerts, avoid driving through flooded roads, and secure outdoor belongings that may be swept away by rising water. Emergency kits, flashlights, and updated weather apps are recommended for preparedness.

While spring rain is typical in the region, the volume and timing of this weekend’s system make it noteworthy. Travel disruptions and brief power outages are possible in affected areas.
