Cleveland, OH – The National Weather Service in Cleveland has issued a Frost Advisory that remains in effect until 9 a.m. EDT Friday for much of northern, central, and western Ohio.
Forecasters say temperatures may fall to around 33 degrees, creating conditions for widespread frost formation through sunrise. The advisory includes Wood, Sandusky, Hancock, Seneca, Huron, Wyandot, Crawford, Richland, Ashland, Wayne, Stark, Marion, Morrow, Holmes, and Knox counties, covering cities such as Bowling Green, Findlay, Mansfield, Canton, and Mount Vernon.
According to meteorologists, the cold morning could damage or kill sensitive outdoor vegetation. Residents are urged to bring potted plants indoors and cover garden vegetation to prevent frost damage.
Temperatures are expected to rebound later this morning as sunshine returns, bringing readings back into the 40s by mid-morning. This frost event marks one of the season’s earliest for many parts of the region, following several clear, calm nights.
The NWS advises residents to continue monitoring forecasts through the weekend, as additional frost advisories may be issued with similar overnight lows expected.
