Northern Ohio Faces Rain, Storms as Remnants of Tropical Depression Beryl Arrive

Cleveland, OH – The remnants of Tropical Depression Beryl are set to impact Ohio overnight into Wednesday. Isolated to scattered thunderstorms are possible this afternoon, with rain increasing after midnight. Locally heavy rain is expected, though widespread flooding is not anticipated.

According to the US National Weather Service in Cleveland, today will be mostly cloudy with highs in the 80s. Isolated thunderstorms may develop in the afternoon. The remnants of Beryl will bring increased rainfall after midnight, with the heaviest rain expected late tonight. While widespread flooding is not expected, some urban areas or locations with poor drainage may experience minor flooding.

There is a marginal risk of severe thunderstorms between 2 a.m. and 8 a.m. on Wednesday. The National Weather Service has noted that a couple of tornadoes are possible, although the time of day may limit their development.

Wednesday’s forecast includes continued rain and thunderstorms, with temperatures peaking in the upper 60s. Conditions are expected to improve by Thursday, with partly sunny skies and highs in the mid-60s. The outlook for Friday through Sunday shows mostly sunny skies with highs ranging from the mid-60s to 70s. Early next week, temperatures will continue to rise, with Monday and Tuesday seeing highs in the low 70s.
