Cleveland, OH – A Cold Weather Advisory is in effect for northern Ohio and parts of northwestern Pennsylvania from 1 a.m. Monday through 10 a.m. Wednesday.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) Cleveland, temperatures will drop significantly, with wind chills ranging from 0°F to -20°F in some areas. The coldest conditions are expected during the late-night and early-morning hours.
A Winter Weather Advisory is also active for Ohio’s snowbelt region, including areas near Cleveland, Ashtabula, and Youngstown. Lake-effect snow is forecast to intensify late Sunday into Monday, with localized accumulations of up to several inches. Snow is expected to taper off by Monday afternoon as winds shift offshore.
Residents should prepare for icy roadways and dangerous wind chills. The NWS urges precautions such as dressing in layers, avoiding prolonged outdoor exposure, and keeping emergency supplies in vehicles.
This system follows a colder-than-average January trend for Ohio, with daily lows dropping into the single digits or below zero through Wednesday morning. Surrounding counties outside the snowbelt will see limited snowfall but will still endure frigid air.
Stay tuned to the NWS for updates as conditions evolve.
