Reno, Nev. – Temperatures in Reno are expected to climb into the mid-70s by Tuesday afternoon, but breezy conditions and wind gusts up to 25 mph could make for a dusty and uneven evening commute.

According to the National Weather Service in Reno, winds will increase Tuesday afternoon with west winds between 10 to 15 mph and gusts potentially reaching 25 mph after sunset. Mostly sunny skies will persist through Friday, with highs hovering between 70°F and 74°F in the Reno-Sparks metro area.

On Tuesday night, drivers along I-80 and Highway 395 should prepare for possible visibility issues due to windblown dust, especially in open valley areas. Winds will ease slightly after midnight but remain noticeable. Wednesday brings calmer weather, with highs around 70°F and light winds returning in the evening.

Looking ahead to the weekend, a slight chance of rain and snow lingers for Saturday morning, particularly above 4,900 feet in elevation, including foothill communities. The snow level is expected to rise to 5,600 feet by afternoon, minimizing impacts in the city.

Sunny and mild weather is expected to return by Sunday. More updates are expected if the weekend system strengthens.
