Cut Bank, MT – A High Wind Warning remains in effect until 6 p.m. MDT Sunday for portions of Northern Montana, according to the National Weather Service in Great Falls.
The warning covers Eastern Glacier, Western Toole, and Central Pondera counties, including Cut Bank, Santa Rita, and Ethridge, where southwest winds between 35 and 45 mph and gusts reaching 65 mph are expected through the evening.
According to the NWS, the strong winds will make travel difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles, such as semis and RVs. Motorists are advised to use caution on open highways and north–south routes exposed to crosswinds.
Residents are encouraged to secure outdoor furniture, decorations, and equipment that could become airborne or damaged. The NWS also recommends avoiding areas with loose debris and being prepared for sudden power fluctuations due to wind damage.
Winds are expected to gradually ease after sunset, with calmer conditions forecast for Monday.
