Duluth, MN – After overnight thunderstorms and early Saturday clouds, northern Minnesota is heading into a warm, breezy Sunday that will make for ideal outdoor plans along the North Shore. Afternoon highs are expected to reach the low 80s with winds up to 20 mph, bringing comfortable lakefront conditions for festivals, hiking, and dining outside.

According to the National Weather Service in Duluth, Sunday will remain dry across most of the region, with partly cloudy skies giving way to evening calm. However, the next round of unsettled weather is set to move in Monday night, when a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms will develop after sunset. Southwest winds will help keep Monday warm, but increasing clouds will signal the approaching system.

Travelers and boaters should monitor conditions Monday afternoon, as shifting winds and the possibility of nighttime storms could affect evening commutes and late outdoor activities. While this is not expected to be a severe outbreak, heavier pockets of rain could briefly reduce visibility and create slick roads.

This pleasant Sunday will be the best window for outdoor events before the weather turns more unsettled early next week.
