Duluth, MN – Northern Minnesota will see a calm and clear start to the week before a round of showers arrives Monday night into Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service in Duluth.

Forecasters say mostly clear skies and cool temperatures will persist overnight, with lows ranging from the low 30s to low 40s. Monday will bring sunshine for much of the day, but cloud cover will increase in the afternoon across north-central Minnesota as the next weather system approaches from the west.

Rain is expected to develop late Monday into early Tuesday, spreading eastward overnight. The heaviest rainfall will likely occur around the Brainerd Lakes region, where totals could reach up to 0.7 inches, with lighter amounts farther north and east.

High temperatures Monday will reach the low to upper 50s, cooling into the 40s by Tuesday as clouds and showers move in. Rain should taper off early Wednesday morning, followed by a return to partly sunny skies and seasonable fall weather.

No significant flooding or severe weather is expected, but travelers should prepare for wet roads and reduced visibility during Tuesday’s commute.

This system marks a brief return of unsettled weather before drier conditions resume midweek.
