Gaylord, Michigan – Northern Michigan will see a gradual warm-up heading into Memorial Day, with partly sunny skies and a noticeable rise in temperatures expected across the region.

According to the US National Weather Service in Gaylord, today will remain on the cooler side with highs between 55°F and 64°F and only a slight chance of an isolated sprinkle or very light shower. Dry conditions are expected to dominate the rest of the Memorial Day weekend.

By Monday, temperatures will climb to more seasonable levels, with lows overnight ranging from 60°F to 71°F and continued partly sunny skies. Cities like Traverse City, Petoskey, and Alpena can expect a more pleasant holiday, ideal for outdoor gatherings and travel.

While the risk of rain is minimal, residents are still advised to dress in layers today and take advantage of improving conditions into Monday. The cool start may affect early lake or park plans but should give way to milder, more comfortable weather for Memorial Day events.

Dry weather is projected to hold through Monday evening, with no additional advisories expected unless conditions change. Check for updates if you have late travel plans or are heading to outdoor venues.
