Gaylord, MI – Snow showers and freezing temperatures continue to grip northern Michigan this week, with conditions worsening by midweek. Wind chills could drop as low as -6°F, making travel hazardous.

According to the National Weather Service, Gaylord will see a 50% chance of snow showers Monday, with highs near 20°F. By Monday night, snow becomes likely, especially after 1 a.m., with temperatures plunging to 5°F. Wind chills will hover near zero.

Tuesday brings a 40% chance of snow showers, mainly in the afternoon, with a high near 14°F. Light winds may offer brief relief, but cold conditions persist. By Wednesday, snow showers increase to 60% after 1 p.m., with an even greater chance (90%) by nighttime.

Thursday remains cold, with a high of 19°F and lingering snow showers before skies clear slightly into the weekend.

Drivers along I-75 should prepare for slick roads and reduced visibility, especially late Wednesday into Thursday. Officials urge residents to bundle up and avoid prolonged outdoor exposure due to dangerous wind chills.
