Gaylord, MI – Cloudy and damp conditions will continue across northern Michigan tonight, with drizzle and a few isolated showers lingering into early Friday. The National Weather Service Gaylord office says the weekend will stay mostly quiet, though a brief period of mixed precipitation is possible Saturday afternoon and evening across parts of the Great Lakes region.
According to the latest forecast, tonight’s temperatures will range from 33–39 degrees, with clouds holding firm. Highs on Friday are expected to reach 39–46 degrees, accompanied by partly sunny skies. Saturday will follow a similar pattern with highs near 38–46 degrees, though forecasters warn that a quick-moving wave may bring a shot of rain and snow mix to the area.
Sunday looks to be the warmest day of the stretch, with temperatures climbing into the 44–51 degree range under mostly sunny skies.
Looking ahead to the holiday travel period, long-range models are hinting at the potential for lake-effect snow during the second half of next week. Forecasters emphasize that timing and intensity remain uncertain but note that the pattern could shift toward colder, more unsettled conditions just as Thanksgiving travel increases.
Residents and travelers are encouraged to monitor updates early next week as guidance becomes more refined.
