Gaylord, Mich. – A brief round of showers is moving through northern Michigan this morning, but drier and sunnier conditions are expected to take over by this afternoon. Drivers could see wet roads early in the day before skies clear and temperatures reach the upper 70s.

According to the National Weather Service in Gaylord, the chance of rain is tied to a low-pressure system passing to the south, with showers tapering off by midday. Tonight will bring partly cloudy skies and cooler lows in the mid-50s.

From Sunday through Wednesday, residents across northern Michigan can expect a quiet stretch of weather with abundant sunshine. Highs will steadily climb from the low 70s into the mid-80s by midweek, making for warmer afternoons but comfortable evenings. The extended dry spell should benefit outdoor activities and travel across US-131, I-75, and the M-32 corridor.

While flooding or severe weather isn’t a concern, residents are encouraged to stay hydrated and take precautions as temperatures rise into the 80s next week. More weather updates are expected if conditions shift.
