Northern Michigan — Mild temperatures will continue across northern Michigan this week, bringing partly cloudy skies, light winds, and dry weather through Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service office in Gaylord.

Tonight’s lows will drop into the mid-teens to lower 30s, with the coldest readings across interior northern Lower Michigan and parts of the eastern Upper Peninsula.

Wednesday remains quiet and seasonably mild, with highs in the 39–44°F range under partly sunny skies.

Rain chances increase on Thursday as a system approaches from the west, with temperatures warming into the 41–48°F range. By Friday, colder air begins to filter in, leading to a mix of rain and snow, especially later in the day and into the night.

Forecasters note that the best chance for accumulating snow Friday will be over the eastern Upper Peninsula, though additional wintry precipitation could occur across parts of northern Lower Michigan heading into the weekend.

More updates are expected as the late-week system approaches.
