Gaylord, MI – Snowfall is expected to develop across northern Michigan this afternoon, with light accumulations potentially making roads slick. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Gaylord warns of slushy conditions forming as snow moves in between 2 PM and 7 PM.
According to the NWS, snowfall will first reach the Lake Michigan shoreline after 2 PM, moving eastward to the I-75 and US-127 corridor after 3 PM, and finally arriving at the Lake Huron shoreline after 5 PM. Accumulations are expected to remain under an inch for most areas.
Sunday could bring additional snow showers in the Upper Peninsula before a brief warm-up on Monday, with temperatures climbing into the mid-40s. However, cooler conditions will return by Tuesday, bringing brisk winds and falling temperatures.
Drivers should exercise caution this afternoon, as even minor snow accumulations can lead to slick road conditions. Stay updated with the latest forecasts and road conditions as the system moves through the region.
