Gaylord, MI – Snow and gusty winds are set to return to Northern Michigan Monday evening, creating potential hazards for travelers. Snow showers are expected to intensify, accompanied by reduced visibility and slippery road conditions, especially along key routes like I-75.

According to the National Weather Service in Gaylord, snow will begin late Monday afternoon, continuing into Tuesday with temperatures dropping to the low 30s. Wind gusts may reach up to 30 mph, creating blowing snow and hazardous driving conditions. A new snow accumulation of up to three inches is likely by Tuesday morning.

Lake effect snow will also impact surrounding areas, with additional snowfall expected through midweek. Motorists are urged to allow extra travel time and use caution, particularly during evening commutes Monday.

Looking ahead, temperatures will remain in the low to mid-20s throughout the week, with another snow system potentially arriving Wednesday. By Thursday, skies are forecast to clear slightly, offering a brief respite before another cold front.
