Caribou, Maine – A cold front swept through northern Maine early Friday, bringing in drier air and setting the stage for a noticeably cooler night with lows dipping into the 50s.

According to the National Weather Service in Caribou, inland highs today will range from the mid-70s in the north to upper 70s in the south, followed by a clear, crisp night with lows between 50°F and 55°F. Saturday will offer partly cloudy skies and seasonable warmth, with highs climbing to near 80°F in southern Maine.

The next weather shift arrives Sunday as another cold front pushes through, bringing scattered showers and thunderstorms, especially across southern and Downeast areas. Rainfall could be heavier in those regions, with highs in the low to mid-70s.

By late Sunday night, significantly cooler air will settle in. Temperatures could fall into the 40s in northern areas like Fort Kent and the 50s farther south, including Bangor. Monday will stay cool, with highs ranging from the mid-60s north to near 70°F south under mostly sunny skies.

Residents should prepare for cooler nights by adjusting thermostats, securing outdoor items, and staying weather-aware. Seasonably warm conditions are expected to return by midweek.
