Caribou, ME – The National Weather Service in Caribou says rain will be heavy at times this morning, especially across Downeast Maine, before tapering to lighter showers and drizzle by early afternoon. Highs will reach the mid-50s north to near 60°F along the coast.
By Trick-or-Treat time, expect a gusty southwesterly breeze, with temperatures in the low 50s and a few spotty showers possible mainly across northern Maine.
Later tonight, the system moves east, bringing strong westerly winds that will persist through Saturday. Overnight lows will drop near 40°F, with Saturday highs ranging from the mid-40s north to the low-to-mid 50s along the coast.
Looking ahead, Sunday will be sunny to partly cloudy with lighter breezes and highs in the mid-40s north to near 50°F by the coast — a calmer finish after a blustery start to the weekend.
The NWS Caribou advises residents to prepare for gusty winds tonight and secure outdoor decorations before conditions worsen later today.
