Fort Wayne, IN – Rain moving through Northern Indiana this weekend is expected to transition to heavy snow by late Sunday, with forecasters warning of a significant winter storm that could bring up to a foot of accumulation.
According to the US National Weather Service Northern Indiana, a Winter Storm Watch is in effect from 4 p.m. Sunday to 7 p.m. Monday (Nov. 10, 2025, EST). Rain today will mix with snow tonight, turning to all snow overnight into Sunday. Daytime highs will remain in the mid-40s to low 50s before dropping into the 30s overnight.
Periods of moderate to heavy snow are likely, with 6–12 inches of accumulation expected across parts of Starke, Marshall, La Porte, and St. Joseph Counties in Indiana, and Berrien County, Michigan. Locally higher totals are possible in some areas, especially on elevated surfaces.
The Weather Service cautioned that Monday’s morning and evening commutes could be hazardous due to slick, snow-covered roads and reduced visibility. Motorists are urged to allow extra travel time and stay updated on the latest weather alerts through weather.gov/iwx.
Snowfall rates and conditions may vary significantly by location, but forecasters say this could be the first major snow event of the season for the region.
