Fort Wayne, IN – Northern Indiana is in for a stretch of dangerous winter weather, with snow, freezing rain, and frigid temperatures lasting through early next week.

The National Weather Service forecasts snow Saturday morning, followed by freezing rain in the afternoon. Ice-covered roads, especially on I-69 and U.S. 30, will make travel treacherous. Wind gusts up to 30 mph could lead to drifting snow and icy surfaces.

Sunday brings another round of snow before temperatures plunge to near zero Sunday night. Monday and Tuesday will stay frigid, with highs barely reaching the mid-teens. Wind chills will make it feel even colder.

Residents should take precautions, avoid unnecessary travel, and prepare for possible power outages due to ice accumulation. Stay updated on weather alerts and road conditions throughout the weekend.
