Fort Wayne, IN – Northern Indiana will see scattered thunderstorms through Wednesday before a stretch of dry, warm weather sets in for the rest of the week. Highs will remain in the low to mid-80s, keeping late-summer heat in place across the region.

According to the National Weather Service in Northern Indiana, showers and thunderstorms will remain likely Monday night into Tuesday with storm chances at 50 to 60 percent. The highest risk of rain will occur Tuesday afternoon, with localized downpours and lightning possible across cities including South Bend, Fort Wayne, and Elkhart.

By Wednesday, storm chances decrease significantly, with only a 15 percent chance of showers in eastern counties near the Ohio border. Drier conditions expand Thursday through Saturday, when sunshine dominates and temperatures hover between 83 and 88 degrees. Only northwest Ohio may see a slight storm chance to start the weekend.

Travelers should remain alert for slick roads during storm periods, especially during Tuesday’s evening commute. Outdoor events may also face brief delays until drier weather arrives midweek.

Weather officials say warm, dry conditions are expected to hold into next weekend, though additional advisories could be issued if storm chances increase again.
