South Bend, IN – Widespread frost is expected to blanket northern Indiana tonight as temperatures dip below freezing under clear skies. The National Weather Service has issued a warning, urging residents to protect sensitive plants and take precautions against the cold. Overnight lows are forecasted to range from 28°F to 31°F across the region.

According to the National Weather Service, Saturday will bring much more pleasant conditions with plenty of sunshine and highs ranging from 54°F to 58°F. The sunny weather will continue throughout the day, making for a mild and comfortable start to the weekend.

However, as the weekend progresses, clouds will begin to increase on Sunday ahead of potential rain and storms in areas east of I-69. Temperatures will remain in the 58°F to 66°F range, keeping the weekend relatively warm.

Residents in northern Indiana are advised to enjoy the sunny conditions while they last and stay prepared for the possibility of rain early next week.
