Northern Indiana Weather Update: Dry Weekend, Thunderstorm Chances Monday

Fort Wayne, IN – Northern Indiana residents can expect predominantly dry conditions and rising temperatures through Monday, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). While some sprinkles are possible west of US 31 today, the region will largely remain dry with highs in the 70s and low 80s.

According to the NWS, temperatures will continue to climb, reaching the mid to upper 80s and low 90s by Monday. The next significant chance for showers and thunderstorms is anticipated Monday into Tuesday. The best opportunity for storms on Monday afternoon will be west of I-69. Showers are more likely to develop Monday night into Tuesday, impacting the remainder of the forecast area.

Today’s forecast predicts highs between 72 and 80 degrees with some light rain in the morning, clearing by the afternoon. Sunday will be warmer, with highs ranging from 82 to 86 degrees and mostly sunny skies. By Monday, expect temperatures between 84 and 91 degrees, with the highest likelihood of storms occurring west of I-69 in the afternoon.

Looking further ahead, Fort Wayne’s weather will see a mix of sunny and partly cloudy days, with temperatures in the mid-80s through Tuesday. Highs will cool slightly into the upper 70s to low 80s by Wednesday and Thursday, with a 40% chance of rain on Thursday.
