Fort Wayne, IN – A sharp temperature drop is on the way for northern Indiana as a strong cold front sweeps through the region late this week, according to the National Weather Service in Northern Indiana.
The front is expected to bring scattered rain showers and gusty winds through Friday, followed by a dramatic cooldown this weekend. Highs near 60°F on Friday will plunge into the upper 30s by Saturday, with lows falling to the upper teens and lower 20s by Monday morning.
According to the NWS forecast, the front will also bring windy conditions at times, making it feel even colder during the transition. While no snow is expected at this time, forecasters caution that temperatures will remain below normal into early next week, with frost and freeze conditions likely.
Residents are advised to prepare for the shift by protecting outdoor plants, checking heating systems, and securing outdoor items that could be affected by strong winds.
