Fort Wayne, IN – Rain and patchy fog are expected to linger across Northern Indiana today, with a wetter start to the week ahead. Motorists should prepare for reduced visibility and slick roadways, particularly late tonight and into Monday morning.

According to the National Weather Service, steady rain will taper west to east by this afternoon, giving way to cloudy skies overnight. Temperatures will hover between 41 to 46 degrees, with patchy fog likely in low-lying areas. As Sunday night progresses, rain is forecast to return, becoming widespread into early Monday.

Monday will bring more rain showers and gusty winds, with highs climbing into the mid-50s—well above seasonal norms. Though mild, rain could cause wet commutes and visibility concerns for travelers, especially along major roadways like I-69 and US-30. Drivers are urged to allow extra time during morning and evening commutes.

Conditions are expected to dry out by Tuesday, bringing mostly sunny skies and highs in the mid-40s. However, cooler temperatures will return by midweek, dropping back to seasonal averages in the low 40s during the day and into the 20s overnight. By Wednesday, a chance of rain and snow flurries may develop, signaling winter’s return to the area.

Looking ahead, the week will end with partly sunny skies on Thursday but continued cool conditions. Residents are advised to monitor weather updates for possible midweek rain and snow showers and prepare for changing road conditions.

Stay weather-aware this week and plan accordingly as rain gives way to a cooler, drier pattern in Northern Indiana.
