Fort Wayne, IN – Northern Indiana residents can expect another stretch of unseasonably warm and dry weather as September ends and October begins, according to the National Weather Service.

The agency reported that highs will climb into the 80s through Tuesday, with slightly cooler conditions arriving midweek. Lows will dip into the upper 40s to mid-50s overnight. Dry conditions will continue throughout the week, which forecasters warn could worsen the region’s ongoing drought.

On Monday, temperatures are forecast to reach between 82 and 88 degrees. Tuesday will remain sunny, with highs from 79 to 84. By Wednesday, clouds return with slightly cooler highs ranging from 73 to 80. Thursday and Friday will see highs in the mid-to-upper 70s, with overnight lows as cool as 46 degrees.

According to the National Weather Service, the warm pattern is unusual for this time of year, with temperatures running above seasonal averages. The lack of rainfall remains a concern, especially for farmers and residents monitoring water supplies.

No significant rain is in the forecast, meaning drought conditions could intensify as the area moves into October.
