South Bend, Ind. – A cool, quiet stretch is taking shape across northern Indiana, but a few lake-effect showers may brush the Michigan border late Saturday before skies clear into next week.

According to the National Weather Service in Northern Indiana, sprinkles or light showers could develop near the border tonight with a 20–40% chance of rain. Most of the region will remain dry, though overnight lows are expected to dip into the 40s, bringing a crisp feel to the weekend.

Cities along the state line, including Elkhart and South Bend, could see brief damp roads this evening. Farther south, skies stay mostly cloudy but precipitation chances fade. Drivers are advised to watch for slick spots on bridges and overpasses if showers occur overnight.

Sunday will be seasonable with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s under partly sunny skies. Cooler air returns Sunday night, when temperatures fall into the upper 30s and low 40s. Sunshine dominates Monday with highs reaching the low 70s.

More stable weather is expected through early next week, with little chance of rain beyond tonight.
