Fort Wayne, Ind. – Northern Indiana will stay dry through Monday afternoon, but a round of strong to severe thunderstorms could develop Monday night into Tuesday evening, especially near and southeast of Interstate 69.
According to the National Weather Service in Northern Indiana, highs today will range from 64 to 67 degrees with partly to mostly clear skies. Overnight lows will drop to between 48 and 53 degrees. Breezy, warmer conditions will arrive Monday, pushing daytime temperatures into the 70s and low 80s.
Storm chances increase late Monday, with a Level 1 risk west of I-69 Monday night and a Level 2 risk southeast of I-69 from Tuesday through Tuesday evening. Rain and storm probabilities range from 20% to 65% across the region. Areas like South Bend, Fort Wayne, and Huntington could experience localized strong wind gusts, heavy rainfall, and isolated hail.
Residents are encouraged to monitor weather updates, avoid outdoor activities during storm warnings, and have multiple ways to receive emergency alerts. Charging mobile devices and securing outdoor items ahead of Monday evening is recommended.
