Fort Wayne, IN – Northern Indiana residents will enjoy summer-like warmth early this week before a midweek cooldown, according to the National Weather Service.

Forecasters report that clear skies tonight will keep lows mainly in the 50s, offering crisp evenings across the region. Daytime highs Monday and Tuesday are expected to reach between 81–88 degrees, bringing above-average warmth for late September.

According to the National Weather Service Northern Indiana office, the heat will peak Monday and Tuesday in cities such as Fort Wayne, South Bend, Goshen, and Warsaw, with most areas topping out in the mid-80s. By Wednesday, a shift in the weather pattern will bring cooler air, with highs falling back into the low 70s to near 82 degrees.

The extended outlook shows dry conditions continuing through the weekend. Coldwater, Defiance, Lima, and other communities in the region can expect highs to hover in the upper 70s to low 80s by Thursday and Friday, with no rain expected. Overnight lows will remain comfortable in the 50s through most of the week.

The stretch of warm, sunny days provides ideal conditions for outdoor activities, yardwork, and late-season events. However, residents are reminded that fire risk can rise during prolonged dry spells, so caution with outdoor burning is advised.
