Elkhart, IN – A series of Winter Weather Advisories remain in effect across northern Indiana and southwest Michigan as lake effect snow and scattered bursts of accumulation continue through early Tuesday morning, according to the National Weather Service in Northern Indiana.

The advisories cover Elkhart, Kosciusko, Fulton, Pulaski, Cass (IN), Wabash, Miami, Grant, and White counties in Indiana, along with Cass County in Michigan. The duration and intensity of snow vary by region, with warnings lasting until 9 a.m. Monday in some areas and 1 a.m. Tuesday in others.

Forecasters expect additional snow totals ranging from 1 to 6 inches, with the heaviest accumulations in lake effect zones near Elkhart, northern Kosciusko, and Cass County, MI. Drivers across the region should anticipate slick, snow-covered roads and reduced visibility, especially along U.S. 30, I-69, and U.S. 31.

According to the National Weather Service, snowfall will be most intense this afternoon and evening, potentially impacting both the morning and evening commutes. Travelers are urged to slow down and use caution, as snow bands may shift quickly, producing rapid changes in conditions over short distances.

Road crews are working to clear primary routes, but localized whiteouts and drifting snow may persist into the night.
